Ian is a qualified CPA with many years experience. Previous to Metzke, Ian has worked in large publicly listed corporations at a senior level, managing the financial requirements of divisions, both in Sydney and Western Australia.

Previous to joining Metzke, Ian was responsible for the services division for a national mining services company within Western Australia. At Metzke, Ian was previously the Chief Financial Officer, serving 5 years in that role before being appointed to his current position.

Wayne is our Global Director of Sales. He holds a Master of Business Administration and brings over two decades of experience across technical, sales and marketing roles within large organisations in the mining and exploration sectors.

Wayne’s experience and expertise will strengthen our leadership team as we focus on market diversification and product development. Wayne has a track record for successfully translating technical drilling solutions into clear market value, and he has demonstrated this unique ability at Metzke. Time and again, Wayne has brought innovative products and solutions directly to the clients who need them most, driving growth across the global mining and exploration sectors.

Matt, often regarded as the face of Metzke, has been with the company for over 20 years and brings more than four decades of experience in the RC drilling industry; working alongside the Burt family for over 40 years. Throughout his career, Matt has gained extensive experience in both domestic and international RC drilling environments, operating a wide range of drill rigs.

In his current role, Matt leverages his deep industry knowledge to provide valuable training and technical support to Metzke’s local and international client base. He regularly travels to meet key clients worldwide, offering tailored training and expert guidance to help them achieve optimal results. Matt’s comprehensive expertise in RC drilling has proven to be an invaluable asset to both Metzke’s clients and the internal team.

Marcus is our Operations and Engineering Manager.  Marcus is a qualified and accomplished Mechanical Engineer who has extensive experience with the design and manufacture of exploration drill rigs and auxiliary equipment.

His career has seen him in roles ranging from local drilling equipment manufacturers right up to large government organisations responsible for maintaining critical transport assets. This gives him the ability to understand the requirements of customers, whether large or small, and ensure products and services are delivered in line with their expectations.

Clive was appointed Metzke Company Accountant in August 2023. He has over 25 years experience working as an accountant in industry and commerce for various different organisations. 15 of those years have been spent working in the mining services / manufacturing sectors.

Clive is a Certified Practising Accountant who holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting), Master of Commerce Accounting and Master of Business Administration (MBA) all from Curtin University.

David began his apprenticeship in 1984 with Nabalco as a heavy equipment fitter in Nhulunbuy, a small town in the Northern Territory. In 1994, Stretch transitioned into the drilling industry with Drillex, which later became Ausdrill Northwest, and has held various roles in the industry ever since. Stretch started with Metzke in 2019, bringing his wealth of experience and adding a successful rig building capability to the business. This has resulted in the successful delivery of 7 world-class autonomous smart rigs. Upon the completion of this project, Stretch has taken on the role of Compliance and Training Manager – which brings his industry experience and skill to address safety, asset compliance and apprenticeship management and training.

Outside of Metzke, Stretch also dedicates his time to volunteer with organizations such as the CWA, HeartKids, and the Darling Range Wildlife Center, demonstrating a strong commitment to giving back to the community.

Kristie has been a valued member of the Metzke team since 2018, contributing in a variety of roles across Production, Purchasing, Engineering, and Business Process Support. As Business Process Manager, she is dedicated to streamlining workflows and enhancing processes to boost efficiency, productivity, and employee morale. In addition to her process improvement initiatives, Kristie oversees ERP-related issues and collaborates with external partners to drive better business outcomes for Metzke.
